“Communicate, eduate, inspire and interact with the people you manage to achieve the results expected of your organization.” It is just the beginning of the lessons and advice given in LATERAL APPROACH TO TAKING CHARGE by authors H. W. Sit and Ling Bundgaard. They give you a way to look at being in a position of authority and how you should be mindful and respectful of those in your care.
Being a manager or “the boss” is not all about the title, it is about the leadership you are expected to show when problems arise and when difficult decisions have to be made.
The authors showcase the dilemma that can sometime comes with positions of power, and also how such decisions should not be made lightly if they are to be taken seriously.
I enjoyed this book along with the message it delivers. The authors have outlined in practical terms things that we can all use in our daily lives, no matter what job or profession we are in.
