Anyone who enjoys the “One Minute Manager” style of writing, will probably enjoy this book. It is an easy, fast read written in parable to convey advice. As with One Minute Manager, there is a summery of the advice given at the end of each chapter. Lateral Approach is more straight forward and less cheesy.
What do you believe are the roles and responsibilities of a manager? Lateral approach deals with what a manager’s true responsibilities are. The book focuses on how well-rounded management is a balancing act, and it gives advice as to how to balance things easier and with more confidence.
The writing is directed toward managers, but anyone who needs to lead others will get good insights here — everyone from parents to volunteers.
This is an especially good book for anyone who is preparing to lead others for the first time.
